SHOP.COM APN API: Product Summary vs Product Detail
When using the /products endpoint, product detail is retrieved by putting that product ID in the URL. This identifies a specific resource.
Example: /products/834207132?publisherID=TEST&locale=en_US
When the specific product resource is not identified in the URL, then the call is a "search" that is filtered by the query parameters provided.
Example: /products?publisherID=TEST&locale=en_US&perPage=15&term=laundry
SHOP.COM carries millions of products. To help manage potential payload size for a search call, for each product in the return set only the product summary data is returned rather than product detail data.
Following is an sample of product summary data returned with a search call, then that is followed with a sample of the product detail returned when a specific product resource is identified in the URL.
